Renaming the file name

Use when you want a human-readable name in lists, searches, and map legends.

  1. Click Properties tab → Properties sub-property, locate Name.

  2. Click the Pencil icon.

  3. Type a new name (for example, a consistent convention like S2_MS_YYYY-MM-DD_AOI-Name).

  4. Click outside to save the file name.

  • Renaming does not change the file on disk or the File Name value.
  • You may need the appropriate permission to modify layer metadata.

Downloading the source file

Use when you need the original asset for offline review or external processing or share it with your team.

  1. Click Properties tab → Properties sub-property, locate File Name.

  2. Click the Download icon.

The file is downloaded onto your local computer.

Setting a missing acquisition date

Use only when the Acquisition Date is not present. This helps timeline searches and analytics.

  1. Click Properties tab → Properties sub-property, locate Acquisition Date.
  2. If the value is empty, select the Date picker, select acquisition date and timestamp, click OK.

Acquisition date is set for the layer.

note

This field is dependent on the ingestion date. For example, if Ingestion Date of the layer is 10 Feb 2025 then you cannot set an acquisition date that falls after the ingestion date.
